Short version: the details you share help us answer your questions, quote and schedule your move, and provide our services.
What we collect
When you request a quote, we receive your name, phone number, email address, move locations and date, and any details you share about your move. If you use the website chat, we receive the messages you send and an anonymous conversation identifier. Chat does not require a name or account.
How we use it
Only to answer your questions, prepare your estimate, contact you about your move, and provide our services. We do not sell or rent your personal information. Online quote requests are received by our own website server, saved in a private file that only Advantage Moving can open, and emailed to our office. Website chat is run by Advantage Moving on Cloudflare Workers, with messages stored in Cloudflare D1. Quote requests are not shared with any outside form service.
Unfinished quote requests
If you start the quote form and leave before sending it, your answers are saved only in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off. They are never sent to us until you press send, and they’re removed when you send the form, click “Start over”, or after 30 days.
Chat history and retention
Your browser stores an anonymous chat identifier and a secret session token so your conversation can continue after a refresh or when you visit another page. Cloudflare D1 stores chat messages for us until we delete them; there is no automatic deletion schedule yet. Our staff inbox uses a sign-in cookie. Please do not send payment-card, Social Security, medical, or other highly sensitive information in a quote request or chat message.
Storage and retention
Quote requests are stored on our web host’s server outside the public website and in our office email. We delete old requests periodically according to our operating needs. To protect against spam, the server briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your connection address, never the address itself, and discards it after one hour.
