Local residential moving

A smoother move across South Austin.

A short trip still has two doorways and all your furniture between them. We move Austin apartments, condos and homes with the right crew, equipment and a plan that fits the property.

Around town without the runaround

Local does not mean simple. It means we know what to expect.

A move from a South Lamar apartment to a home in South Manchaca may cover only a few miles, but stairs, elevators, parking, gates and traffic can shape the whole day. We ask about those details early so the crew and truck arrive prepared.

Apartment and condo moves

We plan around elevator reservations, loading docks, stair carries, narrow halls and building move windows. Tell us what your property requires, and we will account for it in the estimate.

Household moves

From compact bungalows to multi-bedroom homes, we protect furniture and surfaces, load in a sensible order and place items in the rooms where they belong.

Plan it right

Before moving day in Austin

Most delays on a local move come from access, not furniture. A few calls a week or two ahead keep the day on schedule.

  • Reserve the elevator and dock. Many Austin apartment and condo buildings require a reserved move window and a certificate of insurance from the mover. Ask your property manager exactly what they need, in writing, for both buildings.
  • Check the curb. If the truck will need a metered space, curb lane, alley or sidewalk, the City of Austin may require a right-of-way permit. Call 3-1-1 several business days ahead.
  • Measure the tight spots. Doorways, stair turns and elevator depth decide whether a sectional, armoire or king box spring fits. Note them when you request your quote.
  • Book early for busy dates. Lease turnovers make the last and first days of each month the busiest, and summer is peak season across Austin.

Common questions

How far ahead should I book a local move in Austin?

Two to four weeks ahead is comfortable for most dates. For end-of-month dates and summer weekends, book as early as you can.

What affects the cost of a local move?

Mainly how much is moving, access at both addresses (stairs, elevators, long carries, parking), drive time between them and extras such as packing. Texas movers must give you a written proposal before loading.

Do I need to be there on moving day?

Someone who can answer questions and sign the moving services contract should be at pickup and delivery. Note any damage on the contract before you sign it at delivery.

What should I move myself?

Keep medication, IDs and documents, keys, jewelry, cash, chargers and anything irreplaceable with you rather than on the truck.
