Antiques, art & heirlooms

Antiques and art, moved like they’re irreplaceable.

Old finishes, fragile joinery, framed art and family heirlooms get extra protection, careful packing and a crew that never rushes.

Why antiques need a different approach

Old wood dries out, veneers lift, glue joints weaken and original finishes scratch easily. Antique pieces often weigh more than they look and have weak points that aren't obvious until something goes wrong.

Art, mirrors and glass

Framed art and mirrors travel on edge, never flat, with corner protection and padding. Large or very valuable pieces may need custom packing—tell us the size and type in advance.

Clocks and delicate mechanisms

Grandfather and wall clocks need weights and pendulums removed and secured before they move. If you're unsure how, ask before moving day.

Document before the move

  • Photograph valuable pieces from several angles
  • Note existing scratches, chips or repairs
  • Ask about liability limits and consider extra coverage—in Texas, it's agreed in writing before the move

For pianos and organs, see piano moving.

Common questions

Antique and art moving questions

Do you move antiques and fine art?

Yes. Delicate and valuable pieces get extra padding, careful packing and an unhurried carry.

Should I insure valuable items?

Mover liability is agreed before the move and isn't the same as insurance. For high-value pieces, consider separate coverage.

How are paintings and mirrors moved?

On edge, padded and corner-protected, never laid flat. Very large or valuable pieces may need custom packing.
