Office, retail & restaurant moving

Move the business without losing the day.

Your business has enough to do without taking up the moving business. We plan office, retail and restaurant relocations around operations, building access, technology and the clock.

Commercial experience

A practical plan for people, property and downtime.

Advantage Moving has completed thousands of commercial moves, from offices and retail spaces to restaurants. We coordinate with managers, building teams and other vendors so moving work fits the larger transition.

What we can move

  • Desks, workstations, conference rooms and file systems
  • Computers, printers, telecom equipment and server racks
  • Retail fixtures, restaurant furniture and back-office contents
  • Inventory, records and labeled department boxes

Planning around the building

Freight elevators, loading docks, access certificates, floor protection and limited move windows can determine the schedule. Share those requirements early so we can build them into the plan.

South Austin business corridors

We serve businesses along South Congress, South Lamar, St. Elmo, Ben White Boulevard, South First, Manchaca Road and the I-35 corridor, plus commercial moves throughout Central Texas.

Built around your operating hours.

We work with you to choose a practical date, estimate the timeline and coordinate the move so your team can get back to business.

Office move checklist

Keeping your business open through the move

A commercial move succeeds or fails on planning that happens weeks before the truck arrives.

  • Confirm both buildings’ rules. Ask each landlord for their certificate-of-insurance requirements, freight elevator booking and loading dock hours.
  • Make a floor plan. Number every desk, room and storage area on the new layout and label boxes and furniture to match. Hand the crew a copy.
  • Plan IT separately. Back up data, and have your IT provider disconnect and reconnect servers, networks and phones. Label cables before they are unplugged.
  • Update your address everywhere. USPS, your Google Business Profile, website, vendors, insurance, licenses and payroll. Forward phones before moving day.

Common questions

Can a commercial move happen after hours or on a weekend?

Commercial moves are scheduled around your business. Tell us when you can and can’t be closed, and we’ll plan the timing in the proposal.

What do landlords usually require from a mover?

Most commercial buildings ask for a certificate of insurance naming the landlord, a reserved freight elevator and loading dock time, and floor or wall protection in common areas.

How do we keep downtime short?

Pack non-essential files and storage early, label everything to a floor plan, and have IT ready to reconnect the moment workstations are placed.
